Axe-Waving Robber Steals Juice, Bottled Water From Boston Whole Foods

An axe-wielding man who said he could take whatever he wanted from a Boston grocery store made good on his threats as he ran off with some juice and bottled water, authorities said.

Alan Badgett, 33, of Boston, was arrested and charged with armed robbery following the Wednesday afternoon, July 17, heist, Boston police said.

Police were called to the Whole Foods Market at 27 Austin Street in Charlestown just after noon to reports of an axe-wielding man threatening someone.

The store security said the man claimed he could take whatever he wanted from the store and left without the liquids, police said.

Officers were able to calm the man down and resolve the situation without incident, police said.
